Mechanical Music Reference Books
Many excellent books have been written, but there are still unmet needs in many areas of Mechanical Music concerning very detailed and indepth reference books on specific topics.
We believe that it requires the input of many knowledgable collectors and experts, with a dedicated co-ordinator team, to achieve this aim. We hope that with our project to involve all interested parties over the Internet, we can set a basis for others who wish to pursue a similar project.
Please do contact us for an idea / experience exchange, and to see if we can assist you in any way in getting your project started.

Cylinder Music Boxes
We hope to soon start a similar initiative for Cylinder music boxes, though the Cylinder music box thematic is far more complicated. Disc Music box production can be described as “early industrialized” with a fairly short life span, intense from 1889 to 1900 and fizzling out by the start of WW1. It also has the benefit of being fairly well documented through sales catalogs. Cylinder Music box production began a century or more earlier and had a long and differentiated life span. There were large manufacturers, as well as a more “cottage industry” style of production.
